Money and Joys of Life
Work consists of applied effort, it is what we consecrate our energy in order to achieve something useful. In this sense, work is not only the work which we make a living from, but also what we do with our lives. Happiness resides in doing the things that one is proud of and those that therefore are the person is happy in doing. Most joys of life are not those that are away from our work, but those the come with such labor. Those that lose the joy of working, of a job well done, lose a very important part of the enjoyment of their lives. Obviously it is possible to become “rich” by stealing or cheating others, which would only achieve the objective of accumulating money. But if one were to go along with that way, the person would expose themselves to very grave consequences that could cause irreparable damage in the end. This person could in addition, fall into the emotional and psychological trap of always feeling like he or she is being followed, or would always be waiting for the moment in which he would be trapped by justice. These ways of accumulating money do not go along with the objective of helping to develop personal development, and therefore, do not seem to be the most recommendable road. Finally, there is also the path of good fortune that, without a doubt, exists. But basing the formation of a capital in the probability of obtaining a random prize is just romanticism. The wisest advice is to study, given that in some cases it allows us to accede to jobs that pay better, but most of all, it opens a door to culture, greater intellect and access to the modern fields of knowledge. Studying, working and saving are some things that is at everybody’s reach. What is needed is perseverance.
