Some investors, however, abuse of the rights for consulting and call the account executive only to chat or to get information that they could easily get from the financial news on the television or by reading the financial section of a newspaper. If one calls the account executive for trivial matters one is only causing nothing, but annoyance and a loss of time.

But, on the other hand, have in mind that if one call is fully justified, the account executive will gladly attend the call.

Another element that propitiates a good relation is the mutual consideration. If one expects to get from him special treatment do not forget to respect his working hours.

For example, if one is waiting for a check and you wish to inform about a change of address or that one has an administrative situation to resolve, do not doubt to talk to the assistant. (Assistants are not authorized by law to directly handle investments or less even to give an opinion about securities or the market. Assistants are not collegiate members, and because of that, they are forbidden to advise clients, but collegiate or not the stock exchange agencies usually forbids anyone that is not a collegiate salesman to give recommendations or financial advisements.)

Discount Agencies
If one uses the service of a discount agency, do not forget that one is only paying for the services of execution of orders and for the liquidation of operations. The research services are not included, nor are the management of assets or the investment advisory. What one can expect from the account executive is the following:

  • For him to accept the exact order courteously
  • To register it for execution, and
  • To confirm the execution by telephone

If he makes a mistake he will have to work with one to correct it quickly and in a satisfactory way.

In the relations with the stock exchange agency and its account executive it is very important for one to be comfortable. One has to get acquainted with the terms and expressions used by the account executive when dealing with one.
