So Is Silver The Same As Money?
The monetary role that silver has, has been so wide spread that it is recognized all during history that the word silver actually means money in different languages. In Spanish the word for money is called “plata” which translated literally means silver. There are actually many countries that use the word silver for money.
Something that would be interesting to look into would be the history of silver in recent times. It was said around twenty years ago that most of the gold that was mined from the ground was stored in the ground – in bank vaults and that the industrial demand for gold today, although it was growing was still small compared to existing stocks. as a result within a life time and as was said, possibly within that decade, silver could have become more valuable ounce for ounce than gold. It was also said that this would become more valuable in terms of paper money by large multiple due to the accelerating and uncontrollable worldwide paper money inflation that lied ahead.
