Purchasing Out of the Money options is like a sport in which guesswork is played. It is fun to speculate given the payoff it can bring about, which can be excellent in some cases and even more so when there are options with leverage that plays a big role in the matter. There are very few places in which one can invest one hundred dollars for a few hundred shares of stock for only a specific amount of time. This is how an options market functions. One gets to handle and take ahold of something that is very big for only a small amount of money invested. However, a great amount of people only look at buying options as a lottery sort of investment unfortunately and keep on focusing on purchasing trades that have low probability. It must be kept in mind that options are not an investment unto themselves. The value of an option comes from additional sources, and because of this options are considered to be derivative investments. The most essential thing of the additional sources is being able to predict the direction one believes the underlying security is going to move to in the time frame that is given before the expiration date. For a number of different reasons, there are investors that think they will be able to forecast where a commodity or stock is going in a very small amount of time. They become drawn into going along with their sense however this does not have a great chance of success. Because of this, our objective is to concentrate on the ways in which one can take advantage of the probabilities and instead convert them into opportunities that will allow us to gain. While it is important to concentrate on selling options in order to obtain advantage of the buyer’s low probability of profit, there is also a way in which one can purchase options adequately in order to purchase them as investments. There is a specific way in which one can purchase options in the right way for a stock or commodity and when one is looking into buying options there is a trick at doing this which is known as the DITM or Deep in the Money option.
