New York Stock Exchange Composite Index

New York Stock Exchange Composite Index

The New York Stock Exchange Composite Index has a broader way of measuring the market than S&P 500 Index because it includes all the negotiated stocks in NYSE. It is a market index based on the value of stocks and as the S&P 500 Index it goes back to a base period December 31, 1965. On that date the NYSE Composite Index had 50. In addition to the NYSE Composite Index The NYSE also counts with indexes for industrial stocks, services, transport and financial stocks.
