Kind of Opportunities

Right before the congressional elections that took place in 1954, there were a number of investment funds that occurred that had their plummets and then their rises. Some company’s shares had sold in the market at pretty low prices earnings ratio than a lot of the other companies that were in the same type of industry. This was most likely due to the general sensation within it the financial community that in some cases was even though some companies were represented by some of the most outstanding organizations, the other bigger or larger industrial activities took up a good portion of expensive and non effective plants that had been set up in the stock market merger stage of the 1920īs. These properties were usually not considered wanted at all.

The financial community now has slowly but surely improved. The earnings for 1959 guarantee to top the once all time peak of $2.42 in 1957, the market price of these shares has progressively moved on.

During 1958, which was a year when almost all the chemical and machinery companies had a drop in earning power, one company Food Machinery reported profits at a high of $2.39 per share which was just a little bit over the level of the previous years when the economy as a whole was at a higher level. It was a warning that the chemical divisions were finally getting a point where they were going to be able to take their place with the machinery side of the business as very wanted and not a marginal investment. The big gains in earning power that were stated for the first nine months over the subsequent stage of 1958 gives more assurance that the lengthened period of straightening out the chemicals division is bringing about good results. The gains that were obtained in 1959 are probably especially significant because this was the year that the weapons division is in changeover from the former main product it had of personnel that was armored and light amphibious tank that was made out of steel, to having an aluminum one that is able to be dropped from the air in a parachute. In other words, this was one of the years in the recent past that the ordnance activities did not actually make a big contribution to total earning power, however, what it did do was create a new earning peak.

So how does the market react when these kinds of things occur? In 1957 at the ending of the year the shares were selling at 25 1/4. They are not at a great amount more at 51 which is over a hundred percent gain. It almost seems as though the financial feeling is starting to see the intrinsic improvement in rudiments that took place a few years ago.
