Having Your Own Safe: Many people have their own safes at home and this is another option available as far as where to store gold. The most suggested safes are those that are on the floor as they are more difficult to break into. Another good idea before going out and buying a safe is to talk to an insurance agent first. Burying Your Gold: Some people have chosen the option of burying their gold. Believe it or not there are individuals that have chosen to do it this way and there are canisters that can be acquired that will not wear away when they get buried in the ground.
There are some unusual stories about hidden gold and how the family or wife and children of a deceased member could not find the gold. Although there are some tragic stories on the matter, usually having do with the forgetting about the buried gold or when someone who owned the gold deceased and took the secret with them. If you intend to keep your gold this way, make sure that you leave instructions for your family to be able to get ahold of it in case of emergency.
